We find the first reference to Serenada, already with this name, in a will dated 1646. The property has been in Jacinta Sobral da Silva's family for over 300 years.
Jacinta remembers Serenada from her very first year, when she accompanied her father, António Gomes Sobral. It was he who one day (more precisely in 1961, at the age of 33) had the brilliant idea of planting "some vines" (Castelão, Baga, Camarate and Bastardo) which would, years later, give rise to the Cepas Cinquentenárias Tinto wine. At the time, the wine was made in the first winery owned by the company and sold in bulk to friends and friends of friends.
A new chapter in the history of Serenada began in 2008 with the planting of the new vineyard. The construction of the winery in 2009 – the first licensed winery in the municipality – marks the beginning of the commercial development of the Serras de Grândola brand.
