Polvanera was born from a long family tradition that has always had roots in viticulture. Filippo Cassano, owner and winemaker, has always been aware of the
potential of Primitivo in its territory.
Thanks to the experience of Father Vincenzo and the scholastic training in the “BasileCaramia” wine school in Locorotondo, Filippo wanted to focus on a pure winemaking, enhancing the autochthonous and territorial recognizability.
The total production extends over approximately 120 HA cultivated with Primitivo, Aglianico, Aleatico, Minutolo, Moscato, Falanghina, Bianco d'Alessano, Marchione and Maresco.
Our labels differ from each other due to the age of the vineyards and the type of soil on which they are located; the altitudes vary from 300 to 450 m.
Modern pressing and winemaking systems contribute to the creation of the BIO proposal.
Located between Acquaviva delle Fonti and Gioia del Colle, Polvanera is immersed in a unique landscape, with vineyards, dry stone walls and oak barrels.
The cellar, unusual and characteristic, is dug 7 meters into the limestone rock, adjoining there is a historic farmhouse from 1820 with a rustic taste used for hospitality.
The company is located in a very strategic tourist-hotel area of Puglia and is not far from the Itria Valley and the Bari coast.
