The history of Château de Calavon is intrinsically linked to that of the Audibert family, winegrowers and owners of the estate for five generations. It is a family adventure, a terroir passed down from father to son since the late 19th century.
In the heart of the Pays d’Aix, Château de Calavon is undoubtedly the oldest wine estate in Lambesc, renowned for the quality of its terroir and its organic wines. The first traces of viticulture in the region date back to the time of the Princes of Orange.
It was towards the end of the 19th century that the Audibert family undertook to develop and structure the estate.
The Château de Calavon estate, located in the commune of Lambesc and farmed organically since 2013, comprises one hundred hectares of vineyards and fifteen hectares of olive groves. The vineyard spans two specific plots within the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence and IGP Méditerranée appellations, offering a diversity of terroirs and sun exposures.
We have cultivated our vines using Ecocert-certified organic farming methods since 2013, with the utmost respect for the environment, striving for a balance between vine protection and soil health to preserve the vineyard's rich biodiversity.
