The Girard-Madoux family long owned a wine estate in the commune of Chignin, southeast of Chambéry in Savoie. The estate was sold in 1976.
The vines remained in the family for a few decades, until Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux began training to become a winemaker.
His studies in Beaune and his apprenticeship at Domaine Patrice Rion in Burgundy made him passionate about wine and working in the vineyard.
In 2006, one month after completing his BTS (Higher National Diploma) in viticulture and oenology, Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux purchased the vineyards to recreate the estate. It then consisted of 2.5 hectares of vines planted by his grandparents. Since then, the estate has expanded to 9 hectares, where the Jacquère, Mondeuse, Roussanne, Gamay & Petite Arvine grape varieties grow side by side.
