Azienda Agricola Purovino is a small company of 11 hectares, of which 3.5 are vineyards and 3 hectares of olive trees, located in the heart of the Maremma, an area capable of producing precious wines. In this magnificent setting, tradition and innovation find a perfect alchemy.
Our company was founded in 2011 to complete a project started a few years earlier in collaboration with the University of Tuscia in Viterbo. Our idea started from the desire to make wine without added sulphites using a method patented by us that enhances the powers of nature by reducing synthetic chemistry. From this concept the name Purovino was born which refers to our desire to create a pure, unconventional wine, free from chemical substances and produced from grapes grown with respect for nature and our future.
The discovery of the charm of transforming grapes into wine guided me, Valentina, and my husband Cesare in the choice to create our own world far from the patterns of industry, in the heart of Maremma, in a small village nestled in the Maremma hills and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The landscape that surrounds our company and the still uncontaminated nature of this lesser-known Tuscany have completed our dream of a return to the land and our roots. Our first rows of Sangiovese, Vermentino and Petit Verdot were planted in 2012, followed a few years later by Fiano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pugnitello
