Santar, in the heart of the Dão region, holds within itself an ancient history where wine appears as the main actor of multiple events that made this village unique, noble and singular. With an aristocratic bearing, Santar invites us to walk through its streets full of buildings, once the residence of the noblest Portuguese families. Manor houses, palaces and manor houses dominated by granite from the highlands, intertwined by verdant gardens, paint the picture of this inviting place. It is in the heart of this town that the imposing Paço dos Cunhas stands, dating from 1609, inviting you to discover its four-century history linked to the production of wine and olive oil, and where we find the unavoidable old Vinha do Contador, of organic production, a of the most emblematic wines of the winemaking history of the region. In addition to the vine and wine heritage, Paço dos Cunhas offers a range of services available to complement the enogastronomic experiences we have to offer to those who visit us, the restaurant, which preserves the Beira cuisine, through dishes with an imprint of contemporaneity, the wine shop and tasting room. In the secular cellar of Casa de Santar Vinhos, some of the most precious wines that are part of the 19|90 Premium Wines portfolio are kept. The surrounding landscape shows us its leafy vineyards, stories of secret passions, such as the Vinha dos Amores, owners of wisdom capable of creating deep and delicate wines.

I loved the visit and especially Rita's professionalism, who conveyed the whole story to us with incredible passion and friendliness. The wine tasting at the end was the icing on the cake.
